DESCRIPTION
Construction work involved the following:The Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme is proposed as a pumped storage project with a capacity of 1333MW and an energy storage capacity of 21000MWh. DESCRIPTION:Braamhoek:RCC Dam approximately 335m long and 39m high, Free crest spillway with crest length of 40m over RCC dam, Lower dam – roller compacted concrete dam 35m high, reservoir total 26.7 MCM, active storage of 19.1 MCM.Bedford: River diversion works consisting of channels, a cofferdam and training wall;480m embankment with 170m Long clay core embankment extension, 48m Long single span bridge, 42m dry well single-level intake tower, Upper dam - concrete faced rock fill embankment dam 49m high, reservoir total 22.4, MCM, active storage of 19.1 MCM.
