CAMDEN POWER STATION ASH AND RETURN WATER DAMS AND PIPELINES
BULK EARTHWORKS
Eskom Holdings SOC Limited is constructing a new Ash disposal facility for the Camden Power Station. The power station is located in the North East of South Africa in Ermelo, Mpumalanga. The Camden power station was recommissioned in 2005, after being initially mothballed. This was done with a view to meet South Africa’s electricity generation needs of the time. The thermal power station is coal powered and has a gross capacity of 1500MW. The project was necessitated by the existing ash dam reaching the end of its usable life span and the need for additional capacity was required for continued functioning of the national key point. The project is a multidisciplinary endeavour coalescing civil, echanical and electrical elements to bring the project to fruition.
