
KHOEMACAU MINING INFRASTRUCTURE
BULK EARTHWORKS
Khoemacau Copper Mine is a greenfields project located in North East Botswana. Enabling works included the construction of 3 Box Cuts consisting of approximately 3 400 000 cubic meters cut to spoil to a final depth of 45m including drill and blast with lateral support to create 5 No access portals for underground mine. Approximately 180 000sqm of Geocell slope stabilization was installed to protect the sand slopes. 3 No retaining walls were constructed to facilitate raised boring equipment. The scope included the construction of, admin buildings, change-house, HME workshop, warehouse, medical building and additional support infrastructure. The greenfields project also included a 38km 280mm diameter but welded pipeline and upgrade to the existing TSF facility.
