The contract entails the rehabilitation of 36 km of road by building a temporary shoulder, surfacing thereof and diverting traffic onto the newly built section. Thereafter in-situ milling of the existing sub-base and surfacing, to a depth of 300mm by adding bitumen and cement. This bitumen stabilized material (BSM) is then covered with a 150mm G1 base and surfaced with 45mm AE2 Medium mix.
The Load Control Area consists of the widening of an existing section of the road together with the construction of a new parking area. Two new weigh bridges will be constructed.
