    By News 2014

Located at Ressano Garcia, just across the border from South Africa, the construction of the Aggreko power plant’s infrastructure proved to be a challenging project.

Construction started on phase 1 in 2012 and continued onto phase 2 early in 2013. As during phase 1 the biggest challenge was the extremely tight schedule.

        – 600m drilling for earth mat spikes.

    3) High pressure gas pipe line
    4) Construction of structural concrete plinths.
    5) Construction of fire walls and transformer bases as well as pantograph bases.
    6) Supply and install 400m of box culverts in 2 weeks.

    PROGRESS
We are progressing well with the contract and will complete it in the next few months. It has been an incredible journey from an international expat team that includes no less than 9 different nationalities. The $36 million project funded by Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) includes 2 bridges, a concrete spillway, pump house, earth dam and a new surfaced road. We are in talks with MCA for further work in the Nacala area, a true testament to the quality of work our WBHO team has produced.

This Northern Mozambican project has had more than its fair share of challenges but the team has taken them in their stride, growing in confidence after every success.

    Builders Warehouse Tete

    By News 2014

The coal mining Industry in Mozambique has been vibrant over the past few years and has created a substantial influx of new business opportunities. One of these opportunities was to build the Builders Warehouse in Tete. The warehouse is situated alongside the main road running through Tete to the Malawian border and the prominent white façade which is typical of a Builders Warehouse store is highly visible.

After experiencing some logistical difficulties, the WBHO team completed the store on time and handed over on 23rd of August 2013. The opening was at the end of September. The warehouse consists of 2520m² of trading space which will provide the Tete community with convenient access to some much needed building supplies.

    TRADING STATEMENT

The directors of Wilson Bayly Holmes-Ovcon Limited hereby advise shareholders that in
respect of the unaudited consolidated results for the six months ended 31 December 2013,
earnings per share and headline earnings per share will decrease by between 17.5% and
22.5% in relation to the comparative period.

The decrease in earnings is primarily due to losses from Capital Star Steel, the pipe factory in
Mozambique, as well as a loss from the disposal of Symo, a shelving business within Capital
Africa Steel. These losses have been fully consolidated into the group from 1 July 2013 .
Additionally, the impact of subdued mining activity in West Africa has negatively affected
both revenue and profit generated from the Roads and earthworks business.

The above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the group’s auditors. The
announcement of the group’s interim results for the six months to 31 December 2013 is
expected to be released on SENS on Monday, 24 February 2014.
